Back to School Bash
A Huge Success
1114 Free Backpacks
Branson, August 20, 2007 –
Well over 2,000 people joined us at the Rec Plex to receive a free backpack with school supplies, bounced on the inflatables and swam in the pool. In the first 20 minutes we handed out over 800 backpacks! Before the night was over, all 1000 backpacks with supplies and another 114 without school supplies were given out.
The stories are amazing. Whether it was the single mom with seven children who was weeping because she could not provide her children backpacks or the kid who shouted to his mom, "I have my own scissors this year," we made a difference. We will never hear all of the stories, but we can be sure that people were blessed and God was honored.
We could not have done the Back to School bash without the help of our partners. So thanks to the 20 area businesses who donated the Backpacks and school supplies for the first annual Back to School Bash.
Also thanks to all of the non-profit groups that serve our community such as Skaggs, First Place Character Program, K-Life, AWANA and the Gideons to name a few, who joined us as well.
