The Echo is an energetic time on Sunday mornings that goes deeper than anything else we do in a large group setting. Following the teaching time, we break up into “connection groups” where we hang out to discuss our week and the lesson. We meet Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Chill live, Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m., is like a live blog. It is a relaxed time that we get to hang out and verbally blog about our lives. The Edge is a worshipful time on Wednesday nights where we are encouraged to see what God says about the issues in our lives. Join us for the Edge on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

My goal, as a youth pastor, is not that the students would know a lot about God, Jesus, or the Bible, but that they would know God, have a relationship with Him and understand how He impacts their life through the truth of His Word. The world is full of people who talk about faith; it is our goal to train students to engage in a relevant walk with the Lord that permeates every aspect of their lives. We are trying to engage students with the truth of Christ, involve them in Christian community, and train them to share their hope in culturally relevant ways. Part of our goal includes helping parents understand the issues their student faces on a regular basis. Parents are still the most influential part of a student’s development, so our desire is to come alongside parents and encourage them as they train their students. Beyond this effort, we are continually analyzing our methods to see if we can better communicate the beauty of the gospel. I believe that the message never changes, but the method must always be improving. I recently heard a quote that said, “If you don’t like change- you’ll like irrelevance even less.” I believe the truth of Christ is still the most powerful message ever given to humankind. It deserves the very best mediums and most creative minds to share its glory, though nothing we offer will ever compare to its majesty. Come along as we endeavor to experience the adventure of following Christ with absolute dependence and obedience. John King student pastor |
