The 8th Annual Back-to-School Bash happens on Sunday, August 3 at the Branson Recplex Park! The Branson Recplex Park is one mile north of the Branson Hills Parkway shops. “This is really a family-fun festival!” according to coordinator, Terry Brown. “The last seven years we have averaged over 2500-3000 in attendance,” Brown said. According to Brown “We are raising money from sponsors to purchase 1750 backpacks and school supplies." The brand new backpacks and supplies will be given out differently this year. Everyone will check in at a large tent called, “Backpack Check-In” where they will get a blue backpack card for each child. Then, people may pick up backpacks any time during the 3-hour event.
This year’s August 3rd event includes free swimming at the state-of-the-art Rec Plex pool from 5-8 p.m., and 8 giant inflatables on the Recplex soccer fields including games and climbing walls. The free swim was organized with three swimming times. Each time will require a wrist band (given out in the back pack check-in area.) The pool will open at 5 p.m. and each shift will have a one hour swim with maximum of 600 in the pool for safety reasons. *Note: Branson Parks require swimsuits for anyone swimming in the park pools - therefore those with shorts are turned away.
Once again, Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin will have some fire department vehicles on hand to explore.
Every year we invite at least 20 non-profit organizations to bring a booth and show our guests what they offer to the community. For the third time free vision screenings through Pearl Vision Eye Center will be available. Also again this year, attendees will receive a free hot dog and a can of soda for each person.

"What an amazing gift the Back to School Bash is to our community. When the kids and their families join together to prepare for the school year with new supplies, the energy is just contagious. Thank you First Baptist Church family for providing the tools, and more importantly the loving heart that shows we care and believe in these future leaders."
